EUCHNER launches new FlexFunction CTS safety switch

Maximizing product flexibility is the design soul of the new Euchner CTS door lock device. Based on this research and development goal, the new CTS compact safety switch came into being. The switch has high locking force, small shape and flexible installation. Due to its integrated IO-Link communication function and well-designed, it can meet the safety protection requirements of different installations and applications. The biggest innovation of the CTS switch is its new FlexFunction function, which allows a single device to perform multiple functions, which previously required multiple switch models to achieve. FlexFunction paves the way for future product planning and development.

Small size, high locking force, flexible installation

with dimensions of only 135 x 31 x 31mm and a maximum locking force of 3,900 N, the CTS is an attractive solution for many applications. For hinged doors, sliding doors or doors with very small radii-there are three different switch installation directions, and the universal trigger block has a spring bracket, which makes the CTS can be used almost anywhere. An expandable escape unlock with trigger can also be added at any time. Although this switch is small, but the safety protection level can reach the highest. Based on proven transponder technology, CTS achieves the safety level 4/PL e required by EN ISO 13849-1, while meeting all the requirements of EN ISO 14119.

Multi-purpose FlexFunction: a single device for a wide range of applications

the key innovation will not be immediately apparent, because it is not the switch itself that determines the function of the switch, but the trigger block of the transponder code. That is, the switch function is defined by selecting an appropriate trigger block. Euchner named the new patented design "FlexFunction". The customer can select the appropriate trigger block to activate the specific desired CTS device function. The advantage is self-evident: the user can switch from a door lock device for process protection to a door lock device for personnel protection and select a high or low coding level as required while keeping the basic unit unchanged. When the trigger block is first initialized, the switch is initialized and the function is configured. If the requirements change or the switch is retrofitted elsewhere, the new function can be implemented by simply reconfiguring the switch with a new trigger block. Due to the FlexFunction, CTS safety switches are in line with the future development direction, whether in any required modification or transformation work, and have many advantages, such as less spare parts inventory and more streamlined procurement processes.

Easy integration into applications and systems

CTS has a wide range of applications, ranging from stand-alone operations and in-line connections to higher control system level connections. Suitable patch cables can be selected from a range of models equipped with round plugs or loose wires to meet various applications. The CTS, combined with the Euchner IO-Link gateway, also provides communication data for industrial 4.0 applications, enabling comprehensive diagnostics.
